AEthelmearc College of Bards

Welcome to the web home for the College of Bards in the Kingdom of Æthelmearc within the Society for Creative Anachronism, or SCA. More will be coming as we slowly get things organized, but in the meantime, to kick things off we have recordings of some Kingdom Songs for the populace to listen to and learn.

Sylvan Bard Competition

"It is the will of Their Majesties that the Sylvan Bard competition be held at War Practice. My intention is that all those interested -- and I strongly urge all those interested to participate -- will meet in a bardic circle format during the day --I hope in the bathhouse. I am not sure of a time but I will try to see that it is widely announced at the event. Her Majesty has expressed a hope that she may be able to sit in on at least a part of the circle. There is no fixed theme, but topics suitable for the season -- spring, fighting, love and the like -- are encouraged. Her Majesty has invited the bards to perform their final round at the revel which is to be held in the royal encampment in the evening."
